Michael B. Wardell, O.D.

Billings, Montana Optometrist

Dr. Michael Wardell has been serving patients in the Billings area for over 31 years. His focus is to provide quality eye care that is personalized, affordable, and timely. He aims to meet the optical needs of his patients on an individual basis and feels strongly about taking enough time with each patient to understand and resolve their concerns in order to provide the best possible care. He specializes in family eye care & contact lens fittings with hard-to-fit prescriptions. He also co-manages LASIK, cataract, and retinal surgery follow-up appointments.

He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 1987. He is licensed to treat and manage ocular diseases. After receiving his degree, Dr. Wardell moved to Billings where he and his wife Sherry have raised their six children. He has been an active member in the Boy Scouts of America for over 20 years. Dr. Wardell is an avid outdoorsman and loves to fly fish, hunt, camp, and golf. He loves to spend time with his family.

Mike Wardell, O.D.

Dr. Mike Wardell grew up in Billings. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston, College of Optometry in 2017 where he studied under nationally renowned doctors. Dr. Wardell specializes in treating ocular eye diseases such as diabetes, glaucoma, and dry-eye syndrome. Dr. Wardell also treats eye problems such as allergies, conjunctivitis, red eyes, and more. As he has had years of experience fitting specialty contact lenses, patients with unique eye shapes or prescriptions can be helped by Dr. Wardell’s care. Dr. Mike Wardell is a member of the Montana Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. When he’s not working, you will find Dr. Mike with his wife and three kids playing outdoors. He loves to hunt, fish, hike and play sports.

SHERRY WARDELL

Office Manager & Optician

Sherry has worked side-by-side Dr. Michael Wardell since before Wardell Vision Center opened in 2011. She was instrumental in planning and setting up the practice. Sherry is the Office Manager and is also an optician. She is great at helping patients pick out glasses that fit correctly and look great.

Sherry is a mother of six and grandmother to eighteen grandchildren, and counting! She enjoys traveling to visit those kids and grandkids. She also loves to travel for scuba diving trips and has been to some beautiful places. Sherry has a passion for refereeing volleyball and has been doing that for over 17 years. In her spare time, Sherry loves to quilt and plan her next vacation.

HEATHER HOWE

Optician

Heather joined our practice in June of 2013. She has brought many talents and skills to our office. She has great people skills and we feel she is a great asset to our business. Heather has an associates degree in Applied Sciences from Northwest College. She worked with developmentally disabled children for over 10 years, did medical transcribing for 3 years.

WADE WARDELL

Lab Manager

Wade joined the family business in 2012. He was trained to cut and edge lenses and repair frames, and is great at getting patient glasses fitting well. In 2013 he became Lab Manager, ensuring we have lots of great frames in stock for you to choose from.

In his spare time, Wade joins his dad and brother in their outdoor adventures and loves to play softball. Now a father of three boys, he’s having a great time running to soccer games and spending the time with the kiddos.
